Andrew Rafferty

Senior Partner

Andrew Rafferty has overall responsibility for the management of the firm and specialises in commercial work and property development.  He is also head of the property department.  Andrew graduated from the University of Reading in 1986 and qualified as a solicitor in 1990.  In 1993 he became a Partner in a local firm.  Andrew joined Bramsdon & Childs as a Partner in 2000.

Kathryn

Kathryn Rafferty

Partner

Kathryn completed her law degree in 2013 from the University of Exeter and then her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Guildford the same year. Kathryn became a partner in 2018 and now heads up the wills and probate department, but also specialises in residential property work.

Serhan Handani

Partner - Head of Litigation and Family Law

Serhan is Head of Litigation and Family Law and practises in all areas of civil litigation and family law.
Serhan joined the firm in 2015 as a paralegal and qualified as a solicitor in 2018 and became a partner in the firm on 1st May 2023.

In addition to his law degree, Serhan has an LL.M in Maritime Law from the University of Southampton. Following his degree, Serhan gained experience in various London based insurance and corporate environments before studying the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in 2014.

Serhan is an accredited mediator and offers mediator services to complement the litigation department.

Serhan’s enjoys hiking, and his proudest moment was likely conquering Mt. Kilimanjaro in 5 days, helping to raise over £10,000 for charity.

Hannah

Hannah Rafferty-Rowe

Partner

Hannah finished her law degree in 2014 from the University of Southampton and then went on to study the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Guildford later that year.  Hannah is in charge of our office in Bishops Waltham and has developed a significant following in residential property matters.  She also has expertise in acting for property developers.  Hannah’s hobbies include yoga and playing the piano. Having recently obtained grade 8 Hannah is working towards obtaining her ABRSM Diploma.

Viktoria Kovas

Chartered Legal Executive

Viktoria completed her law degree at King’s College London in 2009 and started her legal career within the clinical negligence and personal injury fields. She went onto Guildford College to undertake the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives Diploma and became a Chartered Legal Executive in 2014.
Viktoria joined Bramsdon and Childs at the beginning of 2017 with a view of expanding her legal career into conveyancing. She currently deals with residential conveyancing matters as well as undertaking Claimant side personal injury and clinical negligence work.
In her spare time Viktoria enjoys travelling, hiking with her dog and arts and crafts.

Thomas Rafferty

Solicitor

Tom was born in Fareham and completed his early education at West Hill Park School in Titchfield before going on to the Portsmouth Grammar School where Tom was an Arthur Nock Scholar. After PGS, Tom studied Classics at Downing College, Cambridge graduating with a 2:1 in 2019. Tom then joined the firm as a paralegal while studying for this Graduate Diploma in Law at the University of Law, Guildford. Having obtained a distinction at the GDL, Tom continued his studies at the University of Law, graduating in 2021 with the Legal Practice Diplomas and a Master of Law with distinction. Tom qualified as a solicitor in January 2023 and was admitted to Cambridge with an MA in May 2023.  Tom specialises in company and commercial work, including company acquisitions and commercial landlord and tenant matters.  Tom’s outside interests include music, the gym and the classics.

Cheryl Utting

Chartered Legal Executive

Cheryl is a Senior Property Lawyer and qualified Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives and was invited to join this firm to add her specialised skill set and wealth of knowledge to the Residential Conveyancing Team.  Cheryl is also a Commissioner for Oaths.

 Cheryl joined us by invitation from a local firm, having been a Senior Associate and Team Leader with that firm.  Cheryl specialises in all aspects of property work, to including buying and selling, new build development purchases, mortgages, leasehold matters, buy to let investment work, equity release and auction work and brings with her 20 years of experience in residential property law and practice. 

Cheryl has an excellent rapport with all agents, brokers and other lawyers and very much enjoys being able to help clients and stakeholders within transactions.  Cheryl also delights in providing support to local charities and businesses and often provides that support out of office hours and on weekends.

 In her spare time, Cheryl is a devoted mother of two girls, who keep her more than busy.  Together they enjoy being outside and making the most of the beautiful and historical area they live in and taking the family dog for walks until he has to be carried.

Selina Williams

Chartered Legal Executive

Selina is a Chartered Legal Executive, having qualified in 2005, and specialises in Wills and Probate.
She enjoys the personal contact that comes with assisting clients in making their Wills, being able to offer valuable support and provide peace of mind by sorting out any issues that may be causing a client concern.

In her spare time, Selina enjoys reading, line dancing, scrapbooking, and keeping up her French language skills.

Megan Burnett

Megan finished her law degree at the University of Portsmouth in 2020 gaining first class and went onto complete an MSc in Law Business and Management alongside her Legal Practice Course at the University of Law later that year.  Megan joined the firm shortly after completing her Masters in 2021 as a Paralegal. Megan is now a solicitor in the firm working in our property department

Consultant

Andrew White practices in civil litigation.  Andrew studied his law degree at Hull University and completed his solicitor’s exams at Guildford, qualifying as a solicitor in 1980 and joining the firm in 1984.  Andrew was for many years the senior partner retiring in 2021.  Andrew’s outside interests include horse riding, archery and history.

Hayley Pierson

Compliance Officer

Hayley completed her law degree at Southampton Institute in 2004 and her Legal Practice Course in 2006 at the Guildford College of Law. She started her legal career within an employment agency setting where she undertook her training contact inhouse and qualified as a solicitor in 2011 in the areas of compliance, immigration and employment.

 

Hayley moved into working within a law firm in 2016 with a view to specialising in the area of compliance. She joined Bramsdon and Childs at the end of 2022 and currently looks after all aspects of compliance for the firm including Money Laundering, and data protection.

 

In her spare time Hayley loves cooking, reading and enjoying days out with her family.

Nicole Noakes

Paralegal

Nicole obtained a First Class Law Degree at the University of Portsmouth in 2019.

Nicole then obtained a Lord Denning Scholarship from the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn before completing the Bar Practice Training Course at the University of Law. She was called to the Bar as a Barrister in 2021 whilst completing a Master of Law with distinction.

Nicole joined Bramsdon and Childs in 2022 as a Paralegal working in our property department. Her outside interests include mentoring and spending time with her family.

Chloe Lawson

Chloe is a University Student studying Law, currently on my placement year within the Family and Litigation Department as a paralegal.

She will be finishing her degree in early 2024, then hopes to study for the LPC with a master’s degree.

Alongside her role as a paralegal, Chloe works part time as a Shift Leader at a beachfront pub.

Maja graduated from the University of Oxford, St Hugh’s College, in 2023 with a BA in Jurisprudence. She is now working as a paralegal in the property department and hopes to begin the SQE, in order to become a qualified solicitor.

Lizzy Barlow

Paralegal

Elizabeth graduates from the University of Winchester in May 2023 and will shortly be completing the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law, alongside her role at the firm.

Elizabeth has a passion for Child Law and has extensive knowledge around Parental Responsibility and other children matters.

In her spare time, Elizabeth is a keen runner, and having completed her first half marathon in 2022 is now training for her first marathon.
